Flavor Profile
Often called ‘The Lafite of the Languedoc,’ the iconic Mas de Daumas Gassac estate has been praised by top critic Hugh Johnson for setting “an example of excellence.” Their Grand Vin white sells for over $40 – but because we go way back with owners the Guibert family, they craft a special Grande Réserve made in its image just for you.
It’s a delicious blend of Grenache Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Viognier. The Guiberts’ Grand Réserve sports a slew of top awards from past vintages, and the new 2021 release continues the tradition with a gold medal from Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
Just wait until you taste it. Look out for plush layers of peach, pear, and citrus, plus savory notes of wild herbs. This is a crowd-pleasing white that will work well with a variety of foods. Try it with roasted white meats (we love classic roast chicken with rosemary and lemon) or aged goat cheese.
Top Tip: Wine Spectator featured a previous vintage of Grande Réserve de Gassac Blanc in their ‘What We’re Drinking Now’ column and it promptly sold out … so hurry to grab your share of the 2021 before it’s all gone too.
