Beyond the label

Jake and Elwood Blues (aka, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd) slammed into the cultural consciousness when they debuted as musical guests on Saturday Night Live. Their chart-topping album was followed by a feature film, The Blues Brothers, in which they embark on a mission from God to reunite their band and save the orphanage where they were raised.

Crafted in celebration of this legendary film, our limited-edition red stars Petite Sirah. Also known as Durif, Petite Sirah is “a grape that takes no prisoners” (Tim Atkin, MW), prized for its inky-dark color and richly concentrated flavors. And the intensity dial was turned way up, thanks to the excellent 2019 vintage. Yet another in a string of superb California harvests, 2019’s long, warm growing season ripened the Petite Sirah grapes to flavor-packed perfection.

Look forward to sumptuous, dark-fruit notes (think plum, fig, blueberry) plus structured tannins and a lengthy, satisfying finish. Guaranteed to hit a high note on its own, this full-bodied Petite Sirah is also delicious with juicy burgers, pizza and more.

The perfect red for kicking back with a great film (or some great tunes). Order your share today.

Classic Movie Pairing: The Blues Brothers (1980)
What better to pair with a Blues Brothers wine than the iconic movie after which it was named? Starring the unforgettable duo of John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as Jake and Elwood Blues, the film rightly sits in the pantheon of comedy classics. This bold, full-bodied Petite Sirah will help put you into the mood for a fun and laugh-filled night.
