Growers there are very proud of their native grapes, one of which is Grillo. This is the star of Ciccio (pronounced chee-chi-oh)—the nickname for the winemaker Francesco Asaro. Gently handled and softly pressed, the Grillo grape makes a delicate, refreshing white with notes of pear and melon and a lift of sage and white pepper. Chill down a bottle and serve with antipasti, grilled fish or salads.
