Eremo Tuscolano Cerquola Frascati 2020
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

Flavor Profile
Our Italy expert unearthed this incredibly rare, top-notch Frascati Superiore at the small but illustrious Famiglia Vermiglia …and here’s why you need to try it.
It’s hard to find.
The Frascati region has supplied zippy, refreshing white wines to thirsty Romans for 2,000 years (and to countless tourists). But it’s highly unusual to find the wines here in the States—rarer still to have the quality distinction of “Superiore” on the label.
It has divine favoritism on its side.
Eremo Tuscolano is Famiglia Vermiglia’s top Frascati and is one of the official wines of the Vatican. It also holds a coveted “Tre Bicchieri” rating from Gambero Rosso, Italy’s top wine and food guide. This exclusive “Cerquola” cuvée—named for the oak trees encircling the estate—is made just for our customers, blended with a portion of that very same wine and born of vines tended by an order of silent monks. (You may not find a more quality-focused vineyard team anywhere!)
Frascati wines are responsible for the building of some of Rome’s most iconic landmarks.
The Castelli Romani hills in Frascati were home to many of Rome’s noble families in the summer (the Pope still has a retreat there). Taxes raised from the wines they bought were collected and funded the building of the Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain (just to name a couple).
It sports a 98-point score.
From critic Alfonso Cevola (aka, the Italian Wine Guy). Enough said.
To give Cerquola a succulent roundness, winemaker Mario Masini aged it on its lees for a year—the resulting creamy texture is a terrific foil to the trademark minerality. Also look forward to seriously ripe flavors of yellow peach, apple, grapefruit and tangerine with a long, mouthwatering finish.
Extremely rare, fine pedigree, great backstory…and best of all, utterly delicious. Order yours today.
