Beyond the label

The Luciani family has been crafting fine wines in Tuscany since 1888, so they’re drawing on generations of expertise to bring you this gorgeous Brunello di Montalcino. It’s crafted at their renowned family estate, which lies next door to iconic Biondi-Santi (whose famous Brunello will cost you around $250 per bottle). But since the Lucianis aren’t as well-known...yet...their lovely Brunello is an absolute steal by comparison.

Thanks to a phenomenal growing season, the latest release offers everything critics love about Brunello. The 2019 vintage has been heralded as one of the best the region has ever seen. “A vintage for the ages,” writes Wine-Searcher.com, while Decanter magazine rates it “5/5…superb…” and Wine Spectator rates the year 98 points overall for “Brunellos that combine elegance and power.”

Aged 36 months in Italian botti and French barriques, the Luciani family’s 2019 Brunello arrives with multiple 90+ point scores from leading critics. Expert Raffaele Vecchione rated it 94 points and raved, “Rich and pronounced, it shows a complex sensorial profile reminiscent of notes of black plums, blackberries, pressed blueberries, wild myrtle, juniper berries…Absolutely addictive.”

This is definitely a bottle to pour for a special occasion. Whenever you’re ready, enjoy it alongside hearty roasted meats, creamy risotto and more. It has decades of pleasure ahead of it.
