Mimmo Rosso 2022

Domenico De Gregorio (known to friends and family as Mimmo) is the head winemaker at Sicily’s exciting Cantine Settesoli. If you’re a fan of rich, smooth southern Italian reds, you’re in for a real treat with his namesake release.

Founded in 1958 in Menfi, Cantine Settesoli prides itself on crafting top-quality wines from native grape varieties. The cooperative’s vineyards are certified organic, and they were the first co-op in all of Italy to receive the VIVA certification from the Italian Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea (a program that promotes eco-friendly and sustainable viticulture).

Mimmo has 30 years of winemaking experience, and it’s evident in his namesake red. A unique marriage of Syrah, Merlot and Sicilian native Perricone (prized for adding intense berry aromas and structure to blends), it'a velvety soft, with jammy red fruits offset by lovely oak-driven tones.
