Beyond the Label

One of the most idiosyncratic actors – and mimics – of the 20th century, Peter Sellers shot to international stardom as the hapless Inspector Clouseau in the legendary “Pink Panther” movie franchise. He’s also regarded as one of the all-time great character actors, known for his diverse set of offbeat roles. To pay proper tribute to Mr. Sellers, we’ve chosen an equally rare and delightful Teroldego.

Originally from northern Italy’s Trentino region, Teroldego has been cultivated for hundreds of years. This dark red grape variety is a parent of famous Syrah (aka Shiraz) and is often used to add color and depth to blends. But since Teroldego positively thrives in California – the brilliant sunshine and long growing season help this late-ripening grape reach its full potential – it takes centerstage in this exclusive red.

Showing all the fruit-rich charm of the great 2018 vintage, it offers ripe bramble and forest fruit notes, plus hints of pepper and earthy spice. With refreshing acidity and well-integrated tannins, the wine makes a delicious match for charcuterie and firm cheeses, roasted red meats, or basically any dish with bacon. Though, if you’ve never tasted a Teroldego before, make sure to enjoy a few sips without food to savor its unique flavor profile.

As wild as it is unpredictable, this rare red is ready for food and your favorite Peter Sellers feature. Act now for your share.

Classic Movie Pairing: Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
Stanley Kubrick’s iconic, 1964 Cold War satire features Peter Sellers in threedifferent roles, including the movie’s namesake doctor. The supporting cast isequally memorable, including George C. Scott, Sterling Hayden and Slim Pickens. This quirky Teroldego is well suited for a one-of-a-kind comedy: both are unique, expertly crafted and immensely enjoyable.
