River Rock Syrah 2019
California Syrah has a richness and elegance all its own, as proven by this fine example from Sonoma’s Russian River Valley and the great 2019 vintage. Brimming with smooth black-fruit flavors, it’s drinking beautifully now and will cellar well, too.

Beyond the label

Over in France, Syrah makes the world-famous wines of Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie in the Northern Rhône Valley. But this prized red grape variety also thrives in California, where the wines have a richness and elegance all their own. Taste for yourself with this brilliant example.

River Rock takes its name from its origin, Sonoma’s premium Russian River Valley, home to some of the Golden State’s loveliest reds. The valley’s cool climate and trademark fog slow the ripening of the grapes at night. This allows the fruit to hang on the vine longer and develop fuller, more complex flavors.

Add in the excellent conditions of the 2019 growing season—“a vintage that has a lot of natural richness,” writes critic Antonio Galloni—and it’s no surprise that the wine in your glass is truly top notch. Look forward to expressive fig and black currant aromas, followed by rich compote fruit flavors, ripe tannins and a soft, smooth texture.

This fine Syrah is drinking beautifully now (especially when paired with hearty red meats or stews), but it’ll cellar well for years to come. No matter when or how you plan to enjoy it, order now to secure your share.
